Dr. Anderson is the Chief Medical Officer of Duke Primary Care. He has been in practice in Oxford, NC, since 1983. He applied to medical school with the idea in mind of becoming a family physician in a small town because of the many fond memories he had of time spent in rural Virginia growing up. He enjoys all aspects of family medicine, but it is the relationships formed with patients over many years that continue to inspire him to practice medicine.
He remains humbled by the privilege of engaging in someone’s life through his role as their primary care physician. As Chief Medical Officer of Duke Primary Care, he is part of a leadership team helping shape the future of Duke Medicine, but he will always be drawn to the care of individual patients and their families.
