Karen Jooste, MD, MPH, is a pediatrician, teacher, coach and workshop leader. She completed her Pediatric residency training at The Children’s Hospital of New York (Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center) and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She received her Master of Public Health degree from the Mailman School of Public Health Columbia University and completed her Integrative Health Coach Professional Training Program at Duke Integrative Medicine. She teaches medical students in the Practice Course at Duke University Medical School and is a faculty member of Duke Children’s Primary Care. Growing up in South Africa during the Apartheid era, she became intrigued by the resilience of the human spirit. As the founder of Storia International PLLC she fuses her passions for medicine and writing through coaching and workshops rooted in narrative and integrative medicine, designed to facilitate vibrant wellness and resilience.
