He has published and presented on issues related to integrative medicine ranging from the use of probiotic supplements to the use of a multi-disciplinary approach to patients with chronic pain.

Dr. Spar graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University. After a year of research at Harvard Medical Center, Dr. Spar attended the University of Michigan Medical School, where he graduated in 1993. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Tulane University and then pursued a fellowship in Health Services Research at UCLA while earning a Masters in Public Health.
