Kim Brame McGimsey

Instructor, Duke Health & Well-Being Coach Training Program

Kim’s first career was in advertising and sales management where she consulted with small to medium-sized businesses and managed an advertising sales team for a local business journal.  When she discovered Duke’s IHCPT program, she saw the opportunity to translate and blend her creativity, natural curiosity, and belief in people into a realm that transforms lives.

14 years later as founder of Breakthrough Health, she offers 1:1 coaching packages, corporate mindfulness training, group coaching training, stress management consults at Duke Executive Health, and serves as an instructor and mentor in Duke’s HWCT program.

It was her love of working with passionate coaches that inspired her to create The Group Coaching Experience: Design Lab, Coaching Lab and Advanced Practicum Lab, programs to help certified health & wellness coaches translate/scale their 1:1 work to groups with confidence and clarity.  Kim is a group coaching specialist, and her company is a Continuing Education Provider for the NBHWC.

Kim’s passion for affecting change extends beyond coaching to active community engagement. Her service spans various boards and committees that support women’s professional and spiritual development, address local food insecurity, promote school wellness, and establish school gardens.
