Dr. Gaudet joined the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) at the beginning of 2011 as the Director of the Veterans Health Administration’s newly founded Office of Patient-Centered Care and Cultural Transformation, which is based in Washington, DC. Prior to joining the VA, Dr. Gaudet was the executive director of Duke Integrative Medicine, where under her leadership, Duke Integrative Medicine opened a state-of-the-art healthcare facility dedicated to the transformation of medicine through the exploration of new models of whole-person health care.
Dr. Gaudet is internationally known as an expert in transforming health care from a traditional disease-based model to a new model of care for the 21st century based on patient-centered health care. Dr. Gaudet has been recognized as one of the “Top 25 Women in Healthcare 2011” by Modern Healthcare.
