On June 2, 2017, Deborah Ann Ballard, MD, MPH opened a unique and innovative holistic healing center, Holiwell (pronounced “wholly well”) Health in Louisville, KY. Holiwell Health provides the best evidence-informed medicine from allopathic (traditional western medicine), integrative medicine, and functional medicine. In addition to Dr. Ballard’s integrative medicine practice, which includes a nurse practitioner specializing in dermatology, the Holiwell Health team includes dietitians, health coaches, psychologists, and an acupuncturist. Because food is medicine in integrative health, Holiwell Health houses a teaching kitchen where clients can learn from gourmet chefs how to prepare delicious food that heals.
