Program Description

Mentoring Mindfulness: Deepen Your Personal Practice is aimed at encouraging and supporting participants’ personal mindfulness meditation practice, as well as, providing support and encouragement for the development of skills for teaching mindfulness in various settings. 

The mentoring program will provide a space for professionals to share and collaborate regarding challenges and notable insights when integrating mindfulness into their profession. Participants will also share and discuss personal experiences of teaching mindfulness to others. 

Please Note: MindfulnessBased Stress Reduction (Live or Distance Learningor an equivalent mindfulness based program is a prerequisite for Mentoring Mindfulness for Professionals. This program will be most rewarding for professionals that are fully committed to a mindfulness meditation practice, both personally and professionally. 

Learning Objectives

  • Identify how your personal practice has helped you to be a better mindfulness teacher. 
  • Identify and describe obstacles you face in your own personal and professional practice, and how to overcome them. 
  • Describe how your personal mindfulness practice helped you develop a particular, beneficial understanding or perspective on some aspect of your life. 
  • Identify skillful or unskillful use of language and phrasing when teaching about, or guiding mindfulness practice. 
  • Understand the value of “meeting people where they are” as a guiding principle in the delivery and teaching of mindfulness. 
  • Name and describe common obstacles students of mindfulness face and how you, as a mindfulness teacher, can help overcome them.
